Choose Your Own Adventure ~ Progress Report

Gulp. I wish there were progress to report.  I don’t know how professional designers do it, I really don’t.  Setbacks and changes hurt my feelings.

When last I left you, you’d chosen the fabulous teal grasscloth wallpaper.

How embarrassing to have to tell you this…

The blog on which I found the source for this wallpaper quoted it as $27 a single roll.  An investment for me, but worth it.

Cut to me at check out discovering it was actually $27 a YARD.

Is this real life?  Since I’m far from Miss Got Rocks right now, I had to scramble to find something else.  Very long story short, I found a replacement that was much more affordable, but their version of teal wasn’t nearly as pretty so I had to make an executive decision.

Now I could’ve not even told you and there’s a chance you wouldn’t have noticed my switcheroo.  Although it looks similar on screen, this is definitely a true blue.  And it’s being restocked and won’t even ship to me until the end of June.  FRUSTRATION.

Will y’all forgive me?  Will you still play my little game?  Here’s a little peek at some of the other concepts and decisions for the room you’ll soon be making if you stick around.

red lacquer chippendale desk, brass bar cart, leopard rug, anthro rugs, pink gourd lamp, antlerspink ikat lamp, wallpapered closet doors, layered bed, painted headboard

Don’t desert me, please forgive me for changing the game slightly on you.

And that is a lot.

…and that’s a lot.

  1. Oh my goodness, no one will begrudge you not shelling out an ungodly amount of money!! I say bring on the look alike and it will end up looking fab. I think this is going to be a really fun and colorful room, and I will definitely still play the game. I will probably sleep in there one day, so bring it on. :-) Chin up!

  2. OMG! I don’t know if I’ll be able to continue, it’s just so hard. Kidding!! I’m in & can’t wait to vote on the next change to the guest room. Like Janie says, who could blame you for not spending all that $ ? I like the replacement and I bet it will look amazing.
